Marina Dalbem – Director Educational Solutions & Learning Factory

Holds a B.A. degree in Economics from PUC-Rio and a Specialisation in Corporate Valuation from LSE (London School of Economics and Political Sciences). MBA in Finance, Marketing and Operations from The Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania. Marina has held positions in Finance, Operations and Business Development in Retail and Real Estate prior to joining Cultura Inglesa, in 2016. Responsible for the Sales and Operations for Learning Factory.

Maria Eugenia Sanson – Publishing Director

B.A. and pos-graduate in Languages from PUC-Rio, with M.A. in ESL from University of Reading  UK, DOTE (Cambridge University), MBA in Business Management from IBMEC.  Responsible for development of LF products and the Academic Division at Cultura Inglesa S/A.

Raquel Carlos – Publishing Manager

BA in Law from UFRJ, BEd. in EFL from UERJ, post-graduate degrees in Management from Coppead/UFRJ and in ELT from RSA/Cambridge University and MA in Professional Development for Language Education from Nile/Chichester (in progress). Raquel has over 20 years’ experience as a teacher, DOS and academic manager. She has joined Learning Factory in 2015. As publishing manager, Raquel is responsible for the development of all printed materials.

Monica Freire – Editorial Manager

B.A. and post-grad diploma in Language from UERJ, with M.A. in Applied Linguistics from UFRJ, DOTE (University of Cambridge), Extension Course in Project Management from IBMEC. Teacher of English since 1984, teacher trainer since 1997. Vice-President of Braz-TESOL Rio Chapter. 

Valéria França – Head of Training

B.A. in Education from University of Cambridge, UK, with M.A. and PhD in Applied Linguistics from UFF; Teacher for over 20 years and currently Head of Training at Cultura Inglesa S.A., responsible for initial and ongoing training programmes for more than 1000 teachers at Cultura Inglesa; From 2015, President, Braz-TESOL.

Guilherme Pacheco – Senior Training Coordinator

Guilherme has a BA in Languages and the RSA Diploma in TEFL. He’s been a teacher and a teacher trainer for more than 30 years. Guilherme also works as a body psychotherapist and is particularly interested in the links between psychoanalysis and education.

Cicinato Carmo – Training Coordinator

B.A. in Languages from UERJ and post-graduate in Distance Education, Currently, M.A. in Education in Distance Education at UCP. He's been a techer of English  since 1998 and a teacher trainer for more than 10 years. His main insterest lies in teacher development, education technology, transactional distance theory and learner satisfaction.

Paulo Machado – ABCI Training Coordinator

Paulo Machado has been working at Cultura Inglesa – Rio since 1987. He holds a BA in Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), an RSA Dip from Cambridge University, an MA in Applied Linguistics from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), he works as a Teacher Trainer at Cultura Inglesa, Rio.

 

Print & Digital Editors

Ana Thornycroft  

BA in ELT, post-graduate degrees in Applied Linguistics (UERJ) and Media Studies and Teaching Practices (PUC). Ana joined Learning Factory in 2003 as a technology editor. After being responsible for the development of multimedia materials, she became a series editor and is currently in charge of the Mind Flow series.

Bruno Lages  

Bruno Lages holds a postgraduate degree (UFF) and an MA (UFRJ) in Applied Linguistics, as well as COTE and DELTA (module 1). He has worked as an editor with Learning Factory since 2007. Bruno has over ten years’ experience editing both print and digital materials.

Carla Lima Montenegro  

Carla Montenegro has majored in Portuguese and English at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and then attended courses on Publishing Management and Copyright at Fundação Getúlio Vargas. She had taught English for over 10 years before working as an editor. Recently, she’s been working on coursebooks for young learners.

Cintia Nogueira   

B.A. and post-grad degree in English Language and Literature from UERJ, Cíntia has over 10 years' experience working with ELT, four of those in the field of elearning and educational technology. Cíntia is responsible for classroom and online digital materials for all age groups.

Claudio Rocha  

CELTA from University of Cambridge ESOL, BA in English and Literature and MA in Linguistics from Rio de Janeiro State University. Cláudio has worked as a teacher since 2004 and as an editor since 2013. Cláudio is currently designing and developing print materials for adolescents and young adults.

Flavia Miguel  

B.A. in Portuguese – English and MA in Applied Linguistics from UFRJ. Flávia has over 20 years’ experience working in the field of ELT. In 2010 she joined the Learning Factory team and has developed materials for the public and the private sectors.

Joshua Clayton   

With a BA in Arabic, French and Translation from the University of Durham and a DELTA from the University of Cambridge, Josh has over seven years’ experience in the field of ELT. Having taught in several different countries, Josh has spent the last two years working in the production of digital materials for Ed Tech.

Renata Borges Oliveira   

Renata has a BA in English and literature from UERJ and a postgraduate degree in literature from the same university. She has been working with ELT for more than 10 years, including three years working with the production of digital materials.

Vinicius Castilho   

B.A. in English from UFF and Cambridge University certified teacher, graduating top of his class. Vinicius has a decade of teaching experience. His career in Materials Design started in association with the BBC in the development of a distance-learning programme for Brazilian students. He joined the LF team in 2012.

 

Edtech Team

Charles Lacerda   – Multimedia Specialist

Charles holds a BA in Audiovisual Production and a postgraduate qualification in Digital Media. In addition to coming up with new multimedia solutions for the publishing house, he is responsible for all in-house audio and video recording and editing and for distribution of all our digital media to end-users. He is also the go-to guy for any technical issues with our digital products.
